Let's Talk About Love

...

Don't ya just love love?

  Although the Saint Valentine stories vary, one thing is remaining... Love.



Calvary love, the love that doesn't have conditions, the love that forgives, extends mercy and grace, and looks like something.
There is a wonderful lady I heard speak a few times named Heidi Baker. She is someone I greatly admire, she is called Mama Ida to many many children in Africa. She says over and over "Love looks like something" and "Love the one in front of you". And her life shows this reality.

I used to be overwhelmed with the thought of loving too much, but breaking it down to loving the one in front of me really helps me keep on, keepin on in love.
It's there, now let's do it.
And so, let us love today, the one in front of us...

Fruit of the Spirit

I finished 9- 5" x 5" paintings of the fruits of the Spirit as described in

Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 

A very loving man named Bob Jones visited heaven and saw different fruits corresponding to each attribute. So that is what I painted. I do think it is possible for more than 1 fruit to represent them, but I wanted to paint what he saw.
 
Love: Oranges
Joy: Peaches
Peace: Apple
Patience: Pears
Kindness: Tomato
Goodness: Strawberries
Faithfulness: Grapes
Gentleness: Bananas
Self-Control: Grapefruit

Decoupaged Heads

I nearly finished 5 heads=)
I used Aleene's Original Tacky Glue mixed with water and LOTS of magazine clippings. Took a lot more time than I thought they would... Inspired by Surely=)
